Charlene Hudgins has been in theatre her entire life. She has been an actor, director, sound designer, costume designer, set designer, lighting designer, administrator, educator, marketing director, development officer and more.
For more than 10 years, she was the Artistic Director of the Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre. Prior to that she was the theatre director of the Gypsy Theatre Company in Houston, Texas where she was also a freelance actor and director for seventeen years. In addition she taught theater and drama at the University of Houston for twelve years and Houston Community College for seven years.
Although she has experience with many aspects of theatre, her specialty is Shakespeare. She has loved Shakespeare since the first time she saw one of his plays performed and started reading his plays as part of her education.
This love has grown over the years. She has spent time at the Globe Theater in London, been to Stratford-Upon-Avon where she attended the Royal Shakespeare Company Shakespeare’s birth place, and his grave among other relevant historical sites.
She has acted and/or directed a number of his plays and she has taught Shakekspeare from a historical, literacy and acting perspective.
